HEY SEWETO

I forgot to mentioned that there is teachers strike here in South Africa so the students are in class get this from 7 to 7 pm which is crazy and makes for a long day. Today we headed to SOWETO to Sedibeng Sa Bophelo. Since the world cup they have really upgraded this area where it looks like Miami with palm trees all over. Also, they have the new big stadium, that is where the opening ceremony was for the world cup. It is a very nice stadium I tell you. A little back ground on SOWETO, it is the largest township in South Africa, with 49 areas. This is where apartheid really took shape and a lot of attacks took place and it is Nelson Mandela's old home and Winnie's current home still today. On his street, that is the only street in the world where you have two Nobel Peace Prize award winners. Him and Desmond Tutu. Pretty amazing for a block.

Once we got to Sedibeng, we got a warm reception as usual. They were very happy to see us. We met in a small trailer so everyone could hear about what they are doing. That space is also where they work, and yes it is a small trailer they work and serve a community of many.
